Small Group Voice Class
Students ages 11-16 will explore the fundamentals of singing through interactive training exercises and songs. Class will include:
Breath control
Warm-ups and exercises for vocal range, control, articulation, vowels, etc.
Sight-singing - pitch, learning to "read" music as a vocalist and understand the relationships between the notes
Harmony - exploring exercises for pitch independence and harmonizing together
Estill Voice technique - the mechanics of the voice and how to control the different parts of the larynx and mouth to achieve the sound you want - the ultimate goal being versatility as a singer so that they can do pop, Broadway, opera, etc.
Songs -- learning the melody, words, phrasing, and how to perform it (style, breathing, gestures, expressions, articulations, solos, movements, musicality, dynamics, etc.)
